If the home market is not attractive, what do you do? Venture into other markets. That’s what Malaysia-based mobile content developer Billadam Europe Ltd is planning to do. It wants to develop content for the UK market, and one of the reasons cited is that “the mobile content landscape in Malaysia is not yet attractive”. Billadam mainly develops 3G and Multimedia Messaging Service mobile content, which include music video product Gstream and mobile direction software. “In terms of revenue-sharing, local mobile operators take up as much as 50 per cent. In the UK, they (mobile operators) take only about 15 per cent of the revenue-sharing,” Billadam’s chief executive officer Amir Mohamed told Business Times.
