Bangalore’s Innomedia Gears Up To Launch Chois Pad, A Hexa Play Device

Business Standard: Triple play is passe. It’s hexa play now! That is what this company claims. Bangalore-based Innomedia Technologies, a division of Reliance Infocomm, is launching a device called Chois Pad which offers digital channels, internet, voice over IP (VoIP), video on demand, MP3 and video server. The device is priced at Rs 2,500 ($55.5) and will be available across the world within two months, said Mohan Tambe, MD of Innomedia Technologies.
Let it be any broadband connection, customers will get a variety of services from a single device at a cost equal to that of the TV channels, said Tambe. He said the device has a huge demand, not only in India, but also in China and the US.
The company has already tied-up with content providers who will provide recordings of movie, daily soap or cricket match. The content will also be available on a peer-to-peer basis. He plans to distribute the pads in India through local cable operators.
