Vodafone has unveiled its UMTS music service, ‘Vodafone Radio DJ’. I’m pretty sure this is Vodafone Germany being talked about, with the unveiling done at CeBIT. Stations can be chosen by genre or personalized with playlists compiled by customers…or alternatively “Users can create a personalised programme with their mobile phones or PCs by selecting a menu in Radio DJ where the programme is customised in a step-by-step process. First, a music genre is selected, then a decade. Then the customer chooses a music style to match his mood from a selection ranging from ‘relaxed’, ‘romantic’ and ‘melancholy’ to ‘happy’ and ‘powerful’. The music programme is then created according to the user’s criteria, although the songs that are played are a surprise as on conventional radio programmes”.
There’s also a rating system (like it or never again) which further streamlines the station to the listeners taste.
