Telekom Malaysia Harbours Plans to Become An MVNO In India

Business Standard: Telekom Malaysia, which recently picked up 49 per cent stake in Spice Telecom, is looking at expanding in India through the Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) route. MVNOs are popular in the US and in Europe (read a related article in our sister site MocoNews.net), but is yet to be permitted as a telecom service in India. Richard Branson’s Virgin Mobile, which is a leading MVNO in Europe, also has plans to start such a service in India as and when the government permits.
