ScanR has announced details of its series A funding, $4.65 million in a round led by Trinity Ventures and Thomvest International. Other investors include Don Listwin, former President and CEO of Openwave Systems, and James Joaquin, current CEO of Xoom.com and former CEO of Ofoto.
ScanR has also released a scanning service which allows people to take photos with mobile cameras and send it to scanR. “Using at least a 2.0 mega pixel camera scanR will automatically tag documents with key words from the document…The service cleans photos of whiteboards and documents, automatically tags the keywords, and delivers the results as a PDF file in email or as a fax.”
