Gent Quits Vodafone

The shake-out continues at Vodafone, with Sir Christopher Gent (ex-CEO) quitting his role as life president of Vodafone. He (along with Lord MacLaurin) denied being a part of any hypothetical whispering campaign to unseat the current CEO Arun Sarin.
“And in what is being seen as a dig at the “new order”, he said: “When I was an executive at Vodafone, relationships within the company and at board level were characterised by openness and trust. We were mercifully free of company politics and blame culture.”
This comes after chief marketing officer Peter Bamford left last week. Whether the end result of this shake-out will leave Vodafone better able to achieve growth and appease its investers remains to be seen…
