As Sales Director, you will lead your team in a NA region by developing strategic plans for your designated region within the academic market, coach and develop your staff, and monitor performance against sales targets and objectives.
Main Activities:
1. Build trust by developing and sustaining relationships with customers and outside contacts by practicing consultative selling.
2. Achieve revenue targets set by Corporate Directors for the designated region. Provide monthly reports documenting sales results and forecasts for the remainder of year.
3. Contribute to the development of the Corporate sales strategy. Assist in preparation of sales incentive plans. Develop mid- and long-term plans to achieve sustainable business growth in the region.
4. Gather, monitor and evaluate competitive information and impact on sales goals and account management.
5. Provide day-to-day management of sales team including conducting monthly sales planning meetings and weekly telephone conferences to review sales activities, results, and best practices.
6. Meet with individual team members to review activities, results, provide constructive feedback, and conduct annual reviews.
7. Develop and reinforce collaborative relationships among the total sales organization.
Requirements:
-Degree in business/marketing. MBA desirable.
-5-8 years sales/marketing experience with 5+ years sales management experience.
-Publishing experience, academic industry knowledge, and industry specific knowledge (pharma, biotech, chemical, etc) highly desirable.
-Strong oral and written communication, presentation, negotiation skills required.
-Excellent working knowledge of MS Office products. CRM knowledge extremely helpful.
