Join the team at Current TV! Headquartered in San Francisco, Current is a new independent TV network created by former Vice President Al Gore and entrepreneur Joel Hyatt. We are the first national network created by, for and with an 18-34 year-old audience. Our unique programming shows young adults what’s going on in their world, in their voice. With a substantial portion of the network’s content provided by the audience, we’re the first network in history whose programming is supplied in part by the very audience who watches it. Current launched in August 2005 into nearly 20 million homes.
We are currently seeking an Ad Sales Marketing Manager. This is a key position, acting as a liaison between the ad sales & marketing department and the programming department insuring Current’s innovative approach to advertising is carried over throughout all of the interactions a sponsor has with our network.
This person will be integrally involved in all aspects of courting new sponsors as well as servicing existing ones. They should be open to working in a creative environment, with fun, driven people. This position in located in San Francisco at Current’s HQ.
Responsibilities
– Liaison between sales/marketing and programming. This person will attend all programming meetings and representing sales on behalf of clients needs and to mine for programming opportunities that can be leveraged into sponsorship packages that we can be take to market.
– Aid in creation of all sales materials
– Spearhead the development and aid in implementation of upfront presentations, premium items and materials
– Work closely with Current’s in-house client service team to make sure that existing sponsors are taken care of. This could involve getting creative assets from clients.
– Work with VP of marketing, SVP of sales & the President of Sales and Marketing, as well as the programming department to create our franchise branded events to be brought to our sponsors. It could involve on site, on air, mobile and online.
– Must have proven track record of being able to manage budgets effectively
Qualifications
– Must be a self-starter with a track record of developing creative, results-oriented ideas and moving them toward implementation
– At least 2-3 years of TV ad sales marketing or TV network marketing experience, including familiarity with upfronts
– Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly assess performance metrics to further optimize ad sales marketing deliverables
– Excellent organizational skills and very capable of juggling multiple initiatives simultaneously
– Strong communicator and team player with a successful track record of working across an organization to drive programs and results
– 4-year college degree
