Research firm In-Stat reports that mobile TV in China will gather momentum in 2007 and grow to 94 million subscribers by 2009. Naturally, the Chinese government is pushing for the service to be widely available for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, and just as naturally telcos are having trouble with an unclear regulatory environment. In-Stat is betting on DVB-H to be widely adopted, although hedges with the comment that “SDMB, TDMB and MediaFLO each have different market opportunities as well”.
