Can Mobile Content Ring In Revenues?

Forbes has sounded a cautionary note over recent moves by big media houses into mobile content…”all the deals in the world won’t matter if consumers don’t want to see, let alone pay for, the shows the deals cover…In fact, in some cases caution and fewer deals may be the wiser strategy.”
It’s a good way of putting it — it’s a dead-set cert that mobile content will be huge, what isn’t known is exactly what form of content will be huge. Most people agree that the content that will be successful is that which is created specifically for mobiles and makes use of all the mobile capabilities. However, the original mobisode — 24: Conspiracy — has changed from the original content, in which supporting characters were featured in story lines, to repurposed content from the TV show.
