Napster Ceo: It’s Microsoft’s Fault

Napster chairman and CEO Chris Gorog blames the Microsoft partner device makers and Microsoft for Napster’s inability to make great strides in its battle with Apple’s iTunes. He told Reuters’ summit attendees: “There is no question that their execution has been less than brilliant over the last 12 months.” Have to think you could say the same about Napster and a few others, at least. Gorog admitted Napster’s failure to make its own case has held back the company..
He’s not changing sides though, insisting that Microsoft’s ecosystem and DRM will win out: “A lot of people following this story in the media and investors … are really focusing on the tree and are not stepping back and looking at the forest. To date, only 5 percent of (music) sales have migrated digitally. We are in the very, very early days of this.”
