I should have been more careful in the way I wrote about APOVN yesterday. As Sue Cross, AP VP-online, pointed out this morning:
– The Hurricane Katrina video also was distributed via FTP and posted beyond the APOVN.
– That means the video was available to some non-IE users. From Sue: “Members and customers can participate in the Network, take a direct video feed – or do both, which some are doing so they can deliver the video to both IE and non-IE users until we get the compatibility issues resolved.”
As it happens, Sue and I will be at OJR 2006 tomorrow and we’re going to try for an audio interview on APOVN and, I hope, some other areas of AP online activity.
