Kinda crazy to consider such pricing, but News Corp. is betting that people will pay $25-$30 to watch Fox films at home in HD quality via cable and satellite TV 60 days after their theatrical release. News Corp. president Peter Chernin said his company has been talking to cable & sat cos. Chernin argued that more than 1 million Americans spent more than $25,000 last year on a home cinema setup, and they would be “desperate consumers” of such offers.
Meanwhile, on MySpace he said that ad rates on its homepage are now in the $500,000-$700,000 range, closing the gap with Yahoo, which has a price of about $1 million.
