Responsibilities
The Director of Business Development is responsible for closing strategic deals with new customers who will use MusicNet’s products and services to sell music and video to their end consumers. MusicNet’s customers range in size from the world’s largest media companies to small websites. The Director, Business Development must be comfortable generating leads, creating and delivering sales pitches at the most senior levels of large companies and then closing those deals. Additionally, this person will be responsible for communicating market feedback to our product development organization. This position reports to SVP of Business Development and Partner Relations.
Job Description
– Identify, propose and pursue opportunities for expanding MusicNet’s core and emerging businesses
– Generate leads and manage multiple partners at different stages of the sales pipeline
– Close deals on favorable terms to MusicNet
Qualifications
– Creative and highly self-motivated with aggressive selling and closing abilities
– Proven track record in sales: ability to meet and exceed individual sales targets on a consistent basis
– Excellent interpersonal, verbal, oral and written communication skills
– Very detail-oriented and well-organized; ability to manage in high-activity, high-transaction environment
– Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
– Significant knowledge of digital media technologies and operations; able to communicate with engineering and operations staff on technical issues
– Ability to work closely with engineering and technical operations teams to convert market needs to a product roadmap
– A minimum of 5 years experience in online media or technology
– BA/BS degree. MBA preferred.
