German Digital Media Software Firm Magix Plans U.S. IPO; To Raise Up To $155 Million

German digital media software firm Magix is considering an IPO within the next few months to fund expansion..rhe firm was expected to float at the end of March or the start of April and sell shares worth 100 million to 130 million euros ($119-155 million), reports Reuters. Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Cazenove are the banks that would manage the deal.

Magix, which makes software to connect electronic products such as PCs and mobile phones, said it would use the proceeds of an IPO to expand in Germany and abroad. The company is targeting retail consumers, who want to send photos or other multimedia files to friends, add content such as music or videos or archive them on DVDs. To attract customers, Magix has an online portal where it sells music files and other content as well as software.
