Google And Vodafone

Google‘s global tie-up with Vodafone — which will see Google search being the only search option on Vodafone handsets worldwide — goes a bit deeper than simply searching for content. “Vodafone’s Harper says the two companies plan to co-operate on developing a range of search-based advertising opportunities. ‘It opens up an additional business model for us,’ he says. ‘We are going to monitor how customers use it and will expand from there; there is certainly a lot of potential.’
Currently mobile advertising revenue is tiny compared to that of mobile content, just 110 million euros for Western Europe. However, that is expected to grow to 688 million euros by 2010, according to Jupiter.
