Business Standard:
UTV is an aggressive media and entertainment company in India. Its recent film Rang De Basanti is a hit and I am sure its chief Ronnie Screwvala is walking to the bank laughing away.
The latest news is the company has invested Rs 24 crore (that is $5.5 million) for setting up an animating facility at its Andheri Studio in Mumbai. This will create a facility of over 25,000 sq ft – equipped for high definition (HD) work for its clients in North America and Europe. The facility has 225 workstations with blade render farms and Max software.
The company would also announce the production of two animation movies for the local market and primarily for Asian audiences but with an appeal for a growing cross-over audience too, says the BS report.
