The Hindu: It seems a non-issue has become an issue. Clarifying a PTI report in The Hindu on February 18, which said that the south Indian media group Sun TV Ltd will move into mobile telephony and broadband, the Chennai-based broadcasting company said in a statement that “it has no intention of starting/entering the business of mobile telephone or broadband.”
Denying a PTI report published in The Hindu of February 18, the company said: “we have only stated in our offer document (submitted to the Securities and Exchange Board of India) that we will distribute our content through various platforms, one of which is mobile telephone, for example accessing tele-serial clips etc, through mobile phones and broadband.”
Sun TV is going in for an IPO soon.
