Russia will probably issue 3G licences this year thanks to a nearly saturated mobile market. “The report quoted Telecommunications Minister Leonid Reiman as saying that traditional market for mobile phones was approaching saturation in Russia, meaning that the time had come to begin granting 3G licenses…As of January, “there were around 120 million mobile phone subscribers in Russia and it is obvious that with a population of 150 million we must soon reach saturation level,” the official said.”
Russia is one of the BRIC countries, which some analysts believe will see high growth.
