The latest in Neomedia‘s buying spree…it’s buying German company Gavitec AG – mobile digit for a total of $7.2 million in cash and shares, with the deal expected to close by the end of the month. This follows the acquisition of Mobot, 12Snap, and announced plans to buy HipCricket. Neomedia is planning to be a “mobile marketing supercompany” with its PaperClick business — which allows people to enter a brand name or take pictures of barcodes with their cameraphones and open web content. Gavitec concentrates on scanning barcodes and smartcodes with or on mobile handsets, and has several agreements with European telcos. The company is aiming for the Nth American and European markets…
