(via Technology360) Compare this to the Gervais-Audible story below and you can see how complex the issues are where local media affiliates are involved, especially in a supposedly non-commerical model like public broadcasting. Whether you agree with the premise of the story or not (that public radio, rich in exclusive content, should strongly consider not giving away that material via free podcasts, and give it to members), it raises some questions and issues which will come up repeatedly over this week at the Public Broadcasting
New Media Conference later this week in Seattle (I’m speaking there on two panels).
For me, it is still a learning process on the public broadcasting model, the issues involved and how they migrate or use online and mobile. So watch out for our coverage of these issues later this week….
