Maybe HSDPA Will Work

According to this Reuters article many operators are banking on a planned upgrade to HSDPA this year to boost usage of their 3G services, with the idea that the higher bandwidth (1.8 Mbps up to 14 Mbps in the future) will encourage people to download over their mobiles instead of over wireline.
“Music downloads using mobiles is fast catching on, and operators want to ride this trend. Orange Chief Executive Sanjiv Ahuja told Reuters that growth in music and video business at his group was approaching triple digits year on year…”We’re one of the largest retailers (of music) in the UK … We sell more single track music (downloads) than Virgin, HMV and Tesco combined in the UK,” he said…Vodafone Chief Executive Arun Sarin said music downloads were becoming second nature for many people, and increased speeds on wireless devices on the back of HSDPA could tap into this rising trend.”
