The magnitude of what happened in India earlier today is just mind-boggling: the governing body for Cricket in India just sold four-year TV rights for $612 million, and the revenues for the body went up 10 fold in a matter of a day.
These right include cable, broadband (online) and satellite, and do not include mobile, IPTV, all future technologies including ADSL, archive rights after a 72-hour period and public exhibition and film rights.
I would imagine the mobile and IPTV rights for this would go add another $50 million or so, if not more…
