Responsibilities:
The Director of Business Development will identify structure, negotiate and close innovative deals with a wide range of businesses online and offline. The successful candidate will be responsible for signing new multi-channel deals with businesses that operate in the following categories (among others): e-commerce, membership, subscription, catalog, travel and banking. This Director will be responsible for: setting strategies; identifying potential clients within pre-determined categories; managing personnel; introducing LiveItUp.com to the appropriate contacts within potential clients; identifying mutually beneficial ways to work together; negotiating terms of relationships and contract terms; and closing new client business.
The selected candidate must communicate and advocate a client’s needs to internal stake holders and craft LiveItUp’s capability to meet their needs. All partnerships will need to be developed with a vision for the short and long term goals of the partner and business in mind. This Director will be able to analyze complex data, think strategically about the opportunity, industry and the product(s), and possess strong interpersonal and deal-making skills. He/she should be persistent, enthusiastic and have excellent track record of success. This individual should be a consummate “rainmaker”.
This position reports to the AVP of Business Development.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor ‘s degree or equivalent experience.
– 3+ years total sales and/or business development experience.
– Demonstrated experience selling innovative, high-value, strategic service-based solutions to the VP and “C” levels of major companies.
– Must be able to think creatively and strategically, and have a proven track record in aligning and driving deals to successful completion.
– Consultative approach to selling marketing services business opportunities is required.
– Strong ability to create and articulate effective presentations to a variety of audiences.
– Knowledge and understanding of basic membership marketing strategies such as free trials, usage and retention charges preferred, but not required.
– Demonstrated leadership in managing long sales cycles, negotiating and closing large, customized deals.
– A highly motivated, results-oriented, self-starter with strong analytical skills is essential.
