Missed this one last week: Online wedding information and magazine company The Knot posted a sharp gain in earnings for Q4, as revenue grew 27 percent. Earnings increased to $1.48 million up from the year-ago quarter profit of $185,000. Revenue rose to $12.8 million from $10.1 million.
Earnings Release: Total operating expenses for the year increased to $36.9 million from $29.1 million in the prior year. Operating expenses included about $4.8 million in legal fees related to its litigation with WeddingChannel.com.
Also, the company announced today that it has tied up with Travel + Leisure magazine to launch a new joint venture: Travel + Romance. Launching April, Travel + Romance magazine will showcase luxury honeymoons, destination weddings, and trips for two. The publication’s companion website, Travel-Romance.com will also launch then.
