About this Product Manager role:
Are you interested in being at the center of a team that manages the development of a new wireless search application? The Product Manager will work within cross-functional teams; Executive (strategy/mission), Business Development, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Finance, Legal and will provide expert input on application strategy, competitive landscape, technological trends, product requirements and business priorities.
Job description:
Lead the business, market, and product definition process for the mobile search application. Manage all aspects of the product lifecycle including strategy, offering definition, positioning, and performance tracking and evaluation. Responsibilities include the development of a product line business plan (includes both products and content), MRD and PRD, competitive analysis, ongoing analysis of P&L, support of business development, content licensing and sales activities, creation of Market Introduction Plan, planning and coordination of usability and consumer research.
Candidates must have excellent results and track records in each of these functional areas:
Team leadership:
– Lead a virtual/matrix team without official reporting structures or direct control.
– Motivate team members and ensure projects are delivered on time and with high quality results.
– Develop strong relationships with engineering, marketing and business development counterparts.
Desired experiences:
– Strong past contributions in internet search is highly desired
– Experience developing a product from concept to launch is highly desired.
– Experience managing complex partnerships is required.
Summary of responsibilities:
– Initiate usability requirements and work with the Usability team to generate world class mobile apps.
– Driving the monetization of these products to contribute directly to substantial revenue growth with high margins.
– Guiding new product initiatives through the new product introduction process including preparation of product vision, project justification and financial forecasts.
– Providing strategy and product management support to the Content Acquisition team in qualifying and negotiating partnerships with targeted branded providers.
– Conducting comprehensive competitive analyses (i.e., financial, product, technical, legal, usability, market momentum, etc.).
– Supporting the sales process with product literature, documentation, training and sales support.
– Reporting & tracking the success of the product offering against stated objectives and revenue forecasts.
Required experience, skills, and education:
– Demonstrated track record planning and launching multiple successful products.
– Excellent analytic and technical skills; able to communicate them effectively.
– Strong communicator who excels in a team environment; track record as a cross-functional team leader with large, indirect teams.
– Experience in a disciplined New Product Introduction methodology.
– Demonstrated ability to translate consumer and business needs into actionable and feasible product requirements.
– 5-8 years experience in developing and bringing consumer facing content applications – wireless data or internet products to market.
– MBA is preferred, BS is required.
