Reuters On Mobile TV

Reuters has done a rehash on the state of worldwide mobile TV, but it’s got some interesting quotes. One person in the Finnish DVB-H trial wasn’t happy with the service because the image was shown on the mobile 20 seconds after it landed on the regular TV so there was no point watching it at home…other testers pointed out you weren’t supposed to watch it at home but in places where there wasn’t a TV. The US is seen as a key market: “Mobile TV seems to be the killer application, especially for the Americans,” said Eero Kaikkonen, head of private Finnish firm Hantro, which makes video transmission technologies. “For the Americans, TV is such an important thing and they understand the service easily.”
