JibJab’s New Social Networking Service: JokeBox

As we reported from NATPE last week, JibJab Media is on the verge of introducing social networking functions as part of the studio’s plans to create an “online humor destination” with JibJab as the umbrella brand.

News.com reports from The Entertainment Gathering conference held earlier this week in LA, where founders Evan and Gregg Spiridellis gave some more details of the service. It will be called Jokebox…The site will encourage people to store and share jokes, while allowing them to meet people with similar interests. The founders expects the ad-supported site to give them a more diversified stream of revenue than their periodic cartoons provides.
