The consolidation in the web analytics space continues: WebSideStory has bought out Visual Sciences, for $57.3 million in cash and stock.
Visual Sciences–which concentrates on streaming data analysis and visualization software–will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of WebSideStory.
Last November, Google started offering free analytics services through Urchin, a company it acquired in March 2005.
More details on the acquisition are in this San Diego Tribune story.
The VC/M&A section is sponsored by DeSilva & Phillips.
