Blue Lava Founder To Leave Jamdat; Start Three Companies

After the ungodly amount of money he got, who’s to blame him? Henk Rogers, the founder of mobile gaming company Blue Lava Wireless, which was sold to Jamdat last April for $137 million, which in turn was sold as whole to EA late last year, is going to leave the company and begin building his three new companies.

Rogers, 51, made an an extra $108 million for his stock in Jamdat. Add that to the $68.5 million in cash he earned in April and Rogers has made $176.5 million in less than a year.

– His first company will specialize in creating avatars for casual video games. The company is temporarily named Rogers Hashimoto Sato Kawai after its four founders.

– Tetris Online, Rogers’ second company, will seek to take the runaway success of Tetris onto the Internet. Rogers’ partner in this is video game guru and former Nintendo President Minoru Arakawa.

– Blue Lava Technologies, Rogers’ third company, will store and disseminate digital photos. Rogers is working to allow access to the photo servers through the Internet, mobile phones and digital cable connections.
