About the Product Manager, Entertainment Applications
If you are interested in changing the way people get more done and have more fun with their mobile phones, Infospace has the job for you as the Product Manager Entertainment Applications in the Media group.
As the Product Manager, Entertainment Applications you will help create the customer value proposition for mobile entertainment applications such as streaming and downloadable music and video applications, and content drive text alerts and translate that value proposition into clear development objectives, market requirements, and positioning frameworks to be used in sales tools and marketing and communication activities. In addition, you will work with the product planning, merchandising, engineering, and content acquisition teams to identify market opportunities and define new entertainment product lines. You will play an active role in product and service launches, and develop go-to-market programs and marketing plans.
Your strategic responsibilities will include:
– Manage the value proposition of InfoSpace’s new media entertainment applications.
– Analyze trends and identify opportunities for new product lines, as well as opportunities to expand existing product lines to maximize revenues and profits.
– Assist in the development of marketing and communications strategies for the InfoSpace’s catalog of entertainment and media products
– Work with the marketing team in tracking measurable statistics based on marketing programs, promotion, industry research, event and campaign impacts and working with product planning to incorporate those data into next generation product and marketing plans
– Partner with content acquisition to identify new entertainment product opportunities
– Partner with content merchandising, product planning, engineering, and content acquisition teams to develop new or enhanced revenue streams, new features, products and services
– Work closely with carrier account managers to define products and assist in pitching to customers, primarily US based mobile network operators.
– Work with the merchandising team to drive programming strategy for entertainment products
– Communicate and manage product milestones and roadmap with internal InfoSpace stakeholders such as Production, Q&A, Legal, Finance, R&D, Marketing and executives
Your tactical responsibilities include:
– Developing and refining value propositions & positioning for entertainment products
– Writing Market Requirements Documents
– Assist in the creation and effective communication of core product messaging, positioning and branding to ensure messaging consistency internally and externally
– Assist in the development of the marketing plan including channel, merchandising and promotions plan and interacting with channel partners and internal channel resources to ensure adequate channel support of product launch plans
– Conducting appropriate user research validating the product plan, positioning, messaging and marketing plan with target segments for product lines
– Developing practical recommendations to solve concerns of customers and partners, including carriers and entertainment licensors
– Assist in the creation of robust sales tools, collateral and training to ensure the sales force is adequately prepared for product deployments in a timely fashion
– Reviewing product specifications to gain intimate knowledge of the product plans
– Working in conjunction with the Business Development Manager to define and execute programmatic marketing partnerships such as joint marketing agreements as appropriate
– Writing Go-to-Market strategies for new entertainment products and services
– Maintaining a competitive knowledge base and building competitive differentiation into the product plan.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience, including 3 years of consumer product management experience within the entertainment industry, very strong written and verbal communication skills, proven record of working with creative agencies, high energy and passion for entertainment and consumer products, and a very strong consumer focus. Candidate should also be a self-starter who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to completion effectively. Such projects will demand strong working relationships and interactions with vendors, customers, senior executives, partners, and other product & marketing groups within InfoSpace. Any experience with brand or creative agencies is a plus (especially in the mobile industry) A BA/BS degree is required and an MBA is highly desired.
