Microsoft Would Put Poor Online by Cellphone

Now that Nicholas Negroponte has decided to go with open source software for his plan to sell $100 laptops to developing countries (which would make getting additional software a lot cheaper) Bill Gates has proposed using mobile phones connected to TVs and keyboards as a better alternative. It’s true that most people in the world will soon have a mobile phone but I’m not sure they will have the computing power to act as alternatives to laptops in the near future. Sure, some handsets already have that power, but they are the very high-end ones rather than the cheap jobs.
Still, it does indicate that people are looking at ways to use mobile content through other — larger — mediums…
