Current TV: Online Marketing Manager, San Francisco, CA

Join the team at Current TV! Headquartered in San Francisco, Current is a new independent TV network created by former Vice President Al Gore and entrepreneur Joel Hyatt. We are the first national network created by, for and with an 18-34 year-old audience. Our unique programming shows young adults what’s going on in their world, in their voice. With a substantial portion of the network’s content provided by the audience, we’re the first network in history whose programming is supplied in part by the very audience who watches it. Current launched in August 2005 into nearly 20 million homes.

We are seeking an Online Marketing Manager to be based at our San Francisco headquarters.

Responsibilities:

– Drive the creation and implementation of Current’s online marketing plan

– Review and recommend online strategies, including email, media placement and search engine marketing to support the company’s programming, site and advertising objectives.

– Contribute to and manage the creative process for all online marketing campaigns, including artwork, copy and implementation strategy

– Diligently track ROI for all activities and precisely manage the associated metrics and creative performance, including the relationship between Current Web traffic, registrations and community participation/uploads.

– Actively manage and maintain online marketing budget

– As necessary, manage outside agencies/vendors hired to implement campaigns

– Develop reporting structure for internal evaluation of marketing effectiveness

– Work with the online studio team to ensure consistency of messaging and optimal balance of acquisition and retention marketing efforts

– Work with programming to identify and create content with strong viral potential

– Ability to work with online subcultures and communities to gain their support

– Relationships with webmasters and understanding of the blogosphere a plus

Qualifications:

– Must be a self-starter with a track record of developing creative, results-oriented ideas and moving them toward implementation

– At least 3-5 years of online marketing experience, including email and advertising experience

– Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly assess performance metrics to further optimize marketing deliverables

– Excellent organizational skills and very capable of juggling multiple initiatives simultaneously

– Strong communicator and team player with a successful track record of working across an organization to drive programs and results

– 4-year college degree
