As this Slyck story says in a very balanced way, poor Napster has been at the receiving end of some rather harsh “blog sensationalism” (Russell Beattie defines it very well) regarding its future and layoffs (we’re half-guilty by association).
The company has laid off about 10 mid-level employees, as it says, and “and no additional reductions are contemplated.” The company, as we reported before, is on track to launch the website Napster.com as a music destination site and realigning some of its operations because of that.
