And if you thought that wasn’t enough (read below), here’s another social networking startup ready to launch (it hasn’t announced any funding, but I would be surprised if it hasn’t already received some): a new woman-focused media and social networking startup called Sisterwoman.com has launched (the service will soft-launch mid-March). This one quote from co-founder Allie Savarino says it all: “Sisterwoman is a hybrid of MySpace and iVillage because it’s for women, but it completely centers around their social circles and the content they create.” Hmm…where did we hear that before?
Anyway, Savarino helped launch the streaming media company Unicast. The company plans to branch out into mobile, offline events, books, greeting cards, and TV shows, as this release says.
