Google News Outta Beta; Ads Next?

Three years after launching Google News in beta (about 1219 days, to be more precise), Google has taken off the beta tag from all English langauge editions of the service. Editions of Google News in other languages remain in beta.

Some new features including personalization features have been added. Krishna Bharat, creator of Google News, writes on this development on the official Google blog, here.

Does this mean we’ll now see text ads in Google News? Three years ago, if Google tried that, it would have created some controversy among the content providers…now, post-Topix, RSS etc, it probably won’t generate as much heat.
