A good story about how technology and online is playign a big role at the Sundance flim festival (starting today)…the Amazon.com show is also being launched there (read the post below about it).
Among them, more than half of the 193 Sundance films will be screening in a HD format. Also, more relevant to us, the Sundance website is becoming a hub for streaming the film shorts. About 50 of the 73 filmmakers chosen to participate in the highly competitive Shorts Program have agreed to let their work be streamed on the Web.
Other Sundance Online offerings include podcasts of panel discussions. Sprint is underwriting the production of Live@Sundance, 20 video segments on the festival that will be available on the Web site and on Sprint phones.
And of course, the tech related sponsors: Hewlett-Packard, Intel, DirecTV, Moviefone and Sony Electronics.
