Sports.co.uk Mobile Site Launched — Really

Sports.co.uk LogoTEAMtalk Media, part of ukbetting plc, has joined forces with InfoMedia Services to launch Sports.co.uk, a new mobile content downloads channel to be available online and via mobile handsets. This was previously announced to be launched in April last year with MonsterMob, but “never launched for various reasons…However we have launched the service and it is has been live for a week with some encouraging traffic figures”.
UPDATE: Tim Satchell, head of mobile at TeamTalk, has clarified things further. From his e-mail:

To briefly explain, our original pitch for a mobile
billing/delivery/marketing partner came down to Monstermob and Infomedia.

Monstermob appeareed to come up with the right offer, so we went with them.
But it soon became became clear that they were going to have difficulty
meeting our requirements and timescales, so we mutually agreed to part ways
and we went back to Infomedia.

Happily Infomedia have been able to deliver on all their promises in double
quick time.

The website “offers sports fans the chance to personalise their mobile handsets with fun wallpapers, animations, ringtones and video clips related to their favourite team or sport. Over coming months it will expand from downloads to deliver editorial such as news, fixtures, results, league tables and betting information to evolve into the complete sporting mobile portal”. The site is seperated into the categories of ringtones, games, wallpapers, videos, alerts and…babes.
The site should do reasonably well since TEAMtalk will promote it on its other online sports sites (Football365.com, TEAMtalk.com, Planet-Rugby.com, SportingLife.com, Sportal.com and Rivals.net) which garner 8.3 million users.
