All demographic and lifestyle trends point to e-commerce increasing its stake in retail sales. The reason: Generation next. They are the first generation raised in the internet age and are more accustomed to interacting online than passively watching TV.
Their shopping habits are being influenced by technology and retailers must be ready to meet the demands of this burgeoning market demographic. Satya Prabhakar, President & CEO of Sulekha.com believes that retailing online is much more challenging than doing it offline as there is no scope for customer experience where the customer can touch and feel the product. -
