Marina del Rey-based CinemaNow is the global leader in legal digital video distribution working with Hollywood studios to deliver their movies and video content on-demand. The Merchandising Manager position will be responsible for the visual presentation of content on the CinemaNow website and virtual storefronts, optimization of online sales opportunities, execution of online product promotions and reporting and analysis of merchandise performance.
Key Responsibilities:
– Work with “store owners” and marketing team to develop merchandising strategy and calendar for individual product storefronts
– Manage product assortments on multiple web sites and in weekly newsletter and promotional e-mail messaging in accordance with contractual requirements and based on trends and product performance
– Analyze and report results of merchandising efforts to support improvements to product merchandising strategy
– Administer all product updates to the web site including frequent new product entries and maintain existing product database
– Ensure all products are set up accurately and proactively proofed and edited, correcting content errors and optimizing copy and images for online selling
– Manage all product categorization and cross-sell placements
Online Store Presentation:
– Define criteria for online store presentation
– Work closely with Marketing and Graphics teams to develop image, content, features, promos and landing pages to drive product sales
– Manage the onsite search function and personalized promotions functions with outside vendors
Online Promotions:
– Manage weekly site promotions on homepage, sub-pages and content placement in e-mail newsletters and promotions
– Analyze and report results of product promotion and featured products; utilize insights into ongoing product promotion planning
– Manage repeatable e-mail campaigns
– Manage product and category specific promotions as they affect product pricing and product detail page promotion messaging
– Traffic and manage promotional marketing and advertising campaigns on the product web sites, prepare delivery reporting, analyze performance and optimize by placement.
Qualifications:
– BA/BS degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, Marketing Communications or a related field
– 1-3 years product merchandising in an e-commerce, brick and mortar retail or catalog environment
– Strong knowledge of e-commerce/e-retailing fundamentals
– Proven analytic and business plan skills
– Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
– HTML knowledge a plus
– Experience with interpreting site analytics (HitBox or related product)
