MobileMusicDirectory.com

If it’s not there, build it yourself…Barnabas Road Media was alarmed at the lacklustre response to its launch of mobile Christian music service CM1 Mobile and blamed it on the high data costs carriers charge for their network (not, as Carlo at TechDirt pointed out, on the niche-factor of the service). I think it is niche, but it’s also a good indication of the problem third parties face when delivering high-bandwidth mobile content…
Anyway, on to the article. Another problem Barnabas had was it couldn’t find a place to list its radio station. So it has launched Mobile Music Directory which lists all the mobile content services Barnabas could find, ncluding ringtones, news, video, sports and games (but not, unsurprisingly, adult content). Content providers not in the directory can submit to be listed…
“The MobileMusicDirectory.com web site includes links to internet and satellite music services of all genres. Mobile content providers may purchase advertising on the directory web site and enter into trade advertising arrangements between BRM’s ChristianMusic1.com online and CM1 Mobile productions.”
For what it’s worth, Yahoo has a directory of websites designed to work with WAP.
