If you wonder where India stands in respect of having fast (!) internet connectivity, here is some insight over the same. The average speed available in the US is 50 mbps, in Korea 10 mbps, in other Asian countries 6 mbps, in Japan 100 mbps and the highest is 1 gbps in Scandinavian countries. Whereas, in India it is 256 kbps.
While, throwing light on India’s position in internet usage, Sanjay Trehan, Head Broadband, Times Internet Ltd said that the beginning of broadband in other countries was primarily different in terms of its use. -
