Day Two Of Digital Summit 06: “Why Internet In India Has Less Number Of Advertisers”

Reports by Radhika in Mumbai
Raj Nayak, Chief Executive, NDTV Media Ltd, feels that the internet is the only most deprived medium of communication attracting least number of advertisers in India to the date. The industry estimates suggest that the audience size of internet users in India is almost about 38 million, which is 5 times more than the readership of India’s largest circulated newspaper, Times of India. Yet, the total number of online advertisers in India stands at mere 1,000. Whereas, the number of advertisers for television is 7,000 and for newspapers and other print media it is 70,000.
