Broadband Channels Launches Roundup: Disney Preschool; The Fix

Couple of decent “broadband channels” launched in the last couple of days:

Playhouse Disney Preschool: Disney has launched an online subscription service aimed at preschool children, completing its plan for what a Disney executive called “an online theme park.” Playhouse Disney Preschool Time Online costs $49.95 per year and is the most learning-oriented of Disney’s Internet subscription services for kids. Disney Online offers Disney’s Toontown Online, a multiplayer game for ages 8 to 12, and Blast, a multiplayer game for 5 to 9 year olds.

Brian Knappmiller’s Online TV Network: Discovery Channel’s “Monster House” producer has launched an online TV channel called “The Fix“…with original content. The channel has deals with celebrities and rock bands to create their own shows; product placement firms are on board as well, providing additional revenue for The Fix. All shows will be original first-run and available in all forms: video iPod, cell phone, or DVR – or to burn to DVD and share. The technology is being provided by Maven.
