Clear Channel Joins WNI Network

Clear Channel has joined Weathernews in its WNI Network, which delivers personalized local video programming for weather, news, traffic, and sports to 1.5 million subscribers mobiles.
Clear Channel has 40 TV stations across the US, and content will be rolled out with the LiveLocal mobile video application from WNI when it launches in the first quarter of this year.
Two weeks ago Weathernews announced a similar deal with publisher and broadcaster Meredith. (The quotes from Meredith and Clear Channel execs are suspiciously close to word-for-word the same)
Anyway, it seems that Weathernews is trying to promote its upcoming LiveLocal service as all kinds of local information rather than just the weather — hence the rebranding from Weathernews Inc to WNI.
