Airset has launched its first mobile client, a BREW job on Verizon. The app allows you to manage your group calendars, contacts and lists and synchronise them with other people…for example: “Use your phone to change an event in your “family group” and it syncs to everybody in that
group. Update a contact in your “business group” and it syncs to everybody in that group. You get the idea.”
In the process it gives you a back-up of the content on your phone…
So far the client is supported on over 30 Verizon handsets and a Java client is planned. There’s a $6.49 monthly charge, which is more than the $5 originally predicted. That’s a fair whack of dough, so is likely to appeal mainly to people with heavy calendars. That said, the web version is free, so if a group uses it a lot but one person is out and about often it could be worth it.
