So says a new Television Bureau of Advertising survey conducted by Borrell Associates. The study found that ad revenues for local TV sites generated an estimated $283 million in online advertising in 2005, twice as much as in 2004. That figure is expected to increase by 39 percent this year. Also in ’05, In 2005, total revenues for TV station sites saw their share of local online spending increase from four to six percent.
But, a reality check: TV stations’ site revenue accounted for only 6 percent of the total $3.9 billion spent on local online advertising in 2005.
