ARNet.com.au: The boss of graphics chip and chipset vendor ATI Technologies was in India last week. At a function in Hyderabad, the company’s president and chief executive officer, Dave Orton, said that he aims to have half of the company’s revenue to come from the consumer electronics market in the future.
At present, the company, in Canada, gets around 80 percent of its revenues from the PC market, he said. The next revolution in digital media will be centered around consumer electronics, Orton said last week at a conference in Hyderabad, where the company has a development subsidiary. The opportunity in the consumer electronics market is that there are no clearly defined standards in this market, he added.
