OK, I hit the idiocy point in Yahoo Go Mobile..I tried logging in my Yahoo mail account, which is a dormant account for me, mostly, since I use other ones. For each app within Go Mobile, it first links to it, which is kinda stupid, but is necessary for it to download info from the account online..
Anyway, my Yahoo mail account has tons of unread messages, and while synchronizing, it downloads them in form of SMS messages…so here’s what just happened for someone who gets charged 10 cents per incoming or outgoing SMS (again, T-Mobile’s idiocy): I got 25 or so SMS messages from Yahoo and will probably get charged $2.50 for those..
So the lesson: design your mobile app for the lowest common denominator for now…design it for the people who have the worst phone plan and work upwards from there.
Now if I can get my hands on someone in Yahoo mobile design team..
