Position Summary

In this role, your primary responsibilities include generating and driving media sales and business development for Weathernews’ Media Services group. Initially, your primary focus will be to build and maintain effective partnerships with key mobile carriers and broadcast affiliates. Finally, it will be to create and generate new content and business opportunities in the mobile space, focusing on direct to supporter, innovative content and key partnerships to capture a new generation of weather viewers on the third screen. This position is crucial to the growth and success of the company going forward and thus will be a high-demand, high profile position.

Your Primary Responsibilities

– Strategic business development: partnerships, new content offerings, revenue opportunities and wider distribution and generation of sales for current mobile service offerings

– Work with Solutions Sales, Media Services and Marketing to create exciting and effective approaches to the market through marketing, public relations, advertising, partnerships and related activities

– Develop strategies to meet the revenue and partnership objectives of the Media Services group and work effectively with other SSB leaders to manage carrier partnerships on a regional and key account basis

– Review marketing analyses and understand industry trends in order to make recommendations regarding client needs and pricing and to recommend new opportunities within our market

– Negotiate and implement key contracts with customers, putting together a suite of template contracts, in conjunction with Finance

– Develop and deliver business and sales presentations

– Generate sales

– Negotiate and implement contracts with partners, broadcast affiliates and customers

– Respond to inquiries and concerns of partners, broadcast affiliates and customers

– Manage sales forecasting activities as they relate to your specific client accounts

– Develop yearly territory strategies to meet objectives

– Represent the company at trade shows, industry conferences and meetings

– Manage the activities and results of sales associated with your clients

– Manage tactical plans and programs for the achievement of your sales goals

– Handle and develop accounts as assigned

– Manage day-to-day relationships with clients in the Wireless, Telco and IPTV industries

– May recommend and/or develop advertising products and programs to enhance advertising sales

– Perform other duties as required

Requirements

– PROVEN and document-able track record of success

– PROVEN experience in strategic planning, business development, relationship building and sales

– Experience selling in related industries such as Internet and/or Mobile

– Bachelors degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or equivalent

– Minimum 5 years sales and/or account management experience

– Strong negotiation skills to influence decision making bodies both internally and externally

– Ability to:

—- create, read, analyze and interpret financial reports, trade journals and legal documents

—- to respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, management, partners, customers or members of the business community and bring positive resolution to any issues raised by such inquiries

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface at all levels including management and staff personnel both internally and externally (encompasses verbal, written, listening)

– Strong attention to detail and accuracy

– Strong organizational skills
